About the event
Connect with other women in the community while learning about local forest management practices on an informative walk with Wild Rivers Conservancy, Minnesota Women’s Woodland Network (MNWWN), and Better Place Forests. Tour the Better Place Forests Fish Lake property near Scandia, MN for a glimpse into a managed forest with Ironwood, Paper Birch, Black Cherry, Northern Red Oak, Silver Maple and Aspen species. We may even encounter some of the resident wildlife!
Walk length: around 1.5 miles
Walk difficulty: Medium, some areas slopped
Features or other notes of interest: There are porta potties at this location.

Recommended items to bring/ wear:
- Long pants
- Upper body layers like long sleeved shirt and jacket (moisture wicking fabric is always a plus)
- Shoes or boots with traction
- Hat or beanie
- Gloves or mittens
- Adequate water
